Clik here to view.NEW YORK – The most recent world wide famous domestic punchline named Rebecca Black, started August by being a little less hated on the internet. For a girl who in a few short months collected over 11,000 negative opinions, getting 75 percent of people clicking the “love Rebecca Black button” in the first week of August is progress by any standard. Still the drop of negative opinions could possibly only mean people forgot her after she wasn’t in the media for a little while. When she released her second single, began promotion of a debut EP and the snippet about her being harassed in school, Rebecca slipped right back to having 50 % of the internet hating her.
The internet is a strange platform that allows random acts to reach massive audiences. Pig riding baby monkeys, sneezing panda bears and Justin Bieber would never be seen and heard if it wasn’t for Youtube, and neither would Rebecca Black. Unfortunately for her, upon discovering fame young Rebecca is finding out the hard way, stardom may not be all it’s cracked up to be. The singer was recently taken out of school because her school mates were relentlessly bullying her.
There is no dilemma that Rebecca Black rose to fame so rapidly, solely because everybody loved to hate on her. The video in question didn’t rack up millions and millions of views because it was good, but rather because it was extremely funny to watch. However, despite of being hated, Rebbeca Black went on with her career and made a cameo in a Katy Perry video and even sang her debut on America’s Got Talent alongside the “California Dreams” singer.
It seems that no matter what Rebecca Black does, she just can’t find a way to people’s hearts. Music fans cry foul play, saying that nobody as utterly talentless as her should be allowed to make music. Despite those harsh allegations, Rebecca Black is soldering on toward something that might just end up being a career.
If the girl has such thick skin, the question what those kids who teased her straight out of school were saying presents itself. An educated guess would be, it must have been pretty bad. Nonetheless, even if Rebecca Black has no friends to play with anymore, she can always find company in the entourage her billion of views on Youtube have afforded her.
In sum: Hate all you want, Rebecca Black will be just fine.
